29 project: Days 12 -> 18

My 29 project continues and I have yet to miss a day, hurrah! Here are days 12 to 18, spanning leaving Cornwall to go to London and on to Kefalonia for our honeymoon...I shall blog day 19 to the present tomorrow.

(Oh yes, it was most difficult to pick just one picture for many days and if you like you can see a few more over on my Flickr page...)

Day 12 - Going to London, sun in my eyes:Day 13 - Lunch at Whole Foods in High Street Kensington:Day 14 - Alps:Day 15 - Little boats in Fiscardo harbour:Day 16 - View from a Venetian window:
Day 17 - Blue sky = blue sea:Day 18 - Mark and his Star Pattern tee at the Panorama Taverna:More tomorrow....!

...and I'm back again!

I'm back from the very beautiful Kefalonia (or Cephalonia, Kefallonia or Kefallinia...it's the place with the most spelling ever) and getting back into the swing of things after all of that wedding rumpus! Look how pretty it is there. I wish we could have taken another week!

I'm quite sad it's all over, it's been the best 3 weeks of my life but alas, there is only so much celebrating, partying and holidaying one can do and so today I am easing back to work and normality and preparing for exciting things to come...

I have lots of ideas on the go after all that time off and will be getting many of them ready for action in time for taking part in the Bust London Summer Craftacular! It is taking place at the York Hall in Bethnal Green on the 10th of July and if you can make it it would be super to see you there...More info can be found on the Bust website HERE!

So anyway, thank you to everyone who has sent their well wishes over the last few weeks. It's been awesome! The shop will be back to shipping in it's usual timely manner now and I will be updating lots of pics for my 29 project later today...stay tuned!

Of course, I've been away...

I'm back - just for a day - and the wedding was wonderful! The weather held back it's forecast grey and drizzle at just the right time and we were able to say our vows under the canopy of the beautiful thatched summer house at Rosteague House, while our guests mingled amongst the pretty French style boxed hedges in the garden. Lucky us, it was a magical and very happy moment.

Wedding fever has kept me from the blog so here is a catch up on days 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 of my 29 project:

Day 5: Thursday may 27th - The first of our guests started to arrive! Mark on the right with our friend Tim in the campsite waiting for beers to drink in the late evening sun. Perfect.
Day 6: Friday May 28th - The evening before. Here are our good friends and photography aces Ash and Tim munching some good old pub grub. Check out more of their work on Flickr: Ashley Hampson and Tim Lawrence.
Day 7: Saturday May 29th - Our wedding day! (I clearly didn't take this image, but it was snapped by our friend Miss Gemma Holt-Young)
Day 8: Sunday May 30th - Opening the cards. So many cards from so many very generous people...
Day 9: Monday May 31st - We were given the treat of a 2 night stay at the beautiful Driftwood Hotel and this was the view from our room and deck area. Amazing.
Day 10 - Tuesday June 1st - It got sunny again. Sleepy Clifford cat hiding from the heat.
Day 11: Wednesday June 2nd - The last of the wedding flowers captured before they wilt for good...
My my, what a busy week! We are off on our holidays tomorrow so I may not be blogging again for another week or so...we shall see.

I ought to mention too that because of our jaunt to Greek shores, All orders will ship upon my return on the 14th of June, so please bear this in mind when ordering. Happy early June to you and I will be back soon!

29 - Days two and three...

This week I will mostly be a wedding bore I'm afraid. It is in 4 days time after all...

Today, May 25th - E-Numbers:
Yep, for the sweet bar. We're hoping a massive sugar rush will keep everyone dancing 'til dawn!

Yesterday, May 24th - Seating for your eating:
The half painted seating plan. It's turning out well I do believe! I'm tempted to show more of the decorations etc, but I'm going to wait. I don't want to ruin the effect for any of our guests who may happen to read this here blog...

A new project - Day 1.

I hope everyone had a good weekend! As I mentioned in my last post it was my birthday yesterday which was a great day of flopping about in the sun and eating lots. Good stuff.

I've just turned 29 - Oh my, just a few years ago I thought 29 sounded ancient! - and with it being the last year of my 20's I thought about starting a new project. There are some exciting things happening for me this year, which begins with my forthcoming wedding this weekend (THIS WEEKEND! Oh!), so I have decided that I will blog one photo from everyday of the coming year. I know it's not original at all, but I just thought it might be interesting!

Here's the first, from yesterday's birthday picnic on the cliffs at Kiberick Cove:

So yeah! I will blog a picture from everyday, but I might not blog everyday if I'm away from the t'internet for any reason, there will be spells of no pictures and then, say, a whole weekend's at once perhaps. Let's see what happens...

Happy weekend...15% off!

Well, in one week tomorrow I will be getting wed...I can hardly believe it has come around so fast!

This weekend I should think will mostly be spent trying to enjoy some of this wonderful sun we are currently soaking in, printing some fun stuff, painting wedding signs and on Sunday, celebrating my last birthday (and weekend!) as a Miss.

I just wanted to give a little heads up that while I will still be shipping goodies out as fast as I can, I won't be making any new stock for a little while. Some items are running a little on the low side so if you want something, nab it! Also, to celebrate my last week of non-marriedness (word for that?) I am offering 15% off in the shop until the end of the month how about that?

Just enter the code WEDHURRAH at checkout to redeem the offer...

Anyways, I hope everyone has a good weekend. Here is a picture of my family's sweet puss cat Lou-Lou enjoying some early evening sun:

Black Beauty

As well as drawing the act of hiding a lot, I have also been drawing lots of horses of late which is strange for me, as even though horses are my favorite of all the beasts I never usually put them into my work! I have been enjoying it very much...

Print print print giveaway GIVEAWAY!

Would you look at this: I wrote a little screen printing tutorial for The Guardian's website!

It tells you what you will need to get started and gives you a basic how-to for printing a simple design. If you want to have a go, you can follow my instructions HERE!

I made these triangle print vests with the same method in the tutorial. Do you want one? Well, I am going to give away TWO to two lucky commenters on this here post at the end of this week...I have them in medium and large sizes, but to be honest I think they would fit a small too as they are a rib jersey and VERRRY stretchy and clingy.

To enter, leave a comment on this post telling me which colour you would like to win...easy peasy! The vests I have left over will be in the shop at the weekend...You have until midday GMT on Saturday to enter, and I will use the trusty random number generator to pick the winners and will announce them on Saturday afternoon. Good luck!

Comments are now closed and I will announce the winners shortly!

Three. and. a. half. weeks...

Yep, in three and a half weeks time I shall be a married woman...oh my! It doesn't seem like that long ago that I first mentioned it here and I keep thinking back to what I was doing three and a half weeks ago and that seems like it was yesterday.

I have a feeling that the 29th is going to come and go in the blink of an eye, and am trying to enjoy this whole getting ready for a wedding thing...even the more stressful aspects, though of which there doesn't seem to have been many. Yet!

Anyway, I always thought that invites are the first thing a guest will see about a wedding and so kind of set the tone. I really wanted to hand make ours and screen printed them onto recycled card. They went out wth a little A6 inkjet printed RSVP card with the cutest powder pink A6 return envelope. The info was printed on pink recycled paper and the whole lot packaged in a merry looking Kingfisher blue envelope...

They aren't the most extravagant invites I have seen in my wedding research, but the are simple and pretty and give a good idea of the relaxed festivities to come...(in THREE AND A HALF WEEKS! Goodness!)

A hedgehog and a wedding song...

Here's a little sketch I concocted last night...I've never drawn hedgehogs before but I quite like this little guy:

It's been out a little while now but I have yet to share this wonderful song by Anaïs Mitchell featuring Justin Vernon (He of Bon Iver fame...). It's called 'Wedding Song' and is about part of the Ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice where they are discussing who is going to pay for their wedding, she being pragmatic and he dreamily looking to the magic of nature...I love it and you can listen to it for free by clicking here: Wedding Song

A thing for specimens...

I am in the midst of putting lots of new jewels in the store - as promised - and had a little break for a blog read and a Lemsip (feeling a little peaky today you see...) when I came across these gorgeous hand crocheted butterfly 'specimens' from Oeuf, an online store selling all kinds of cuteness for kids (via Creature Comforts).

So lovely:

Those jewels I've been putting in the shop? See and shop them HERE with more on the way very, very soon....

Tuesday, 20 April 2010

Yes, they really are coming soon this time!

I know I have been waffling on about this little lot for a while now, but amongst a few snags and tweaks hither and thither I finally have things ready (I really, really do this time!). They will be in the shop soon! Maybe a few tonight and a few tomorrow, (plus others not pictured). Yes, very soon...

Hiding...

A new painting, sitting on the window sill with some beachy finds...!

Visions in Ice

I just came across these spectacular images of ice by Douglas Capron on the visual treasure trove that is 'But Does it Float?' (which isn't as a good friend of mine once asked, about floaters...)

These are just beautiful, kind of like space and the deepest sea all at the same time. I love how nature so often replicates itself in different areas...

Stones and Stardust

This week folks, this week! I will be launching my new jewellery collection, Stones and Stardust!

Here is a peek at two of the new pieces:

They will be in the shop to launch the newness on Monday Edited to add: They are in the shop NOW and are both very limited edition, I hope you like them! See and shop them HERE and HERE!

Does anyone remember these bracelets I made last year that were featured in Grazia? Well they all sold out and I was unable to get any more of the vintage disc chain...but last week, lo and behold I found a length of this beauteous chain and nabbed it. So until they sell out again, Feather Nest Bracelets are back in stock! See and shop HERE!

I hope everyone is having a splendid weekend with lots of fun and merriment!

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter break...the extra long weekend is always a welcome one around here, Mark and I have a HUGE basket of little eggs and bunnies that were gifted to us over the weekend to munch through.

I am still deciding whether to eat them all at once to remove all unhealthy treats from the house as quickly as possible and resume my pre-wedding health kick, or to spread them out over the coming weeks...knowing my sweet tooth and my lack of discipline when it comes to sweets and treats I will probably be partaking in the former of the two options...ha!

Anyways, while I have been consuming lots of chocs I have also been working on my new jewellery collection which I am enjoying making very much...above is a peek of things to come. I am very excited about it! All will be revealed soon...
