Kanena and excitement!!

If you are after an earthy, boho, surfer girl vibe this summer then head on over to the Emporium to check out all of the gorgeous new jewellery I have added to the store from Kanena!!

These beautiful jewels are all hand crafted using natural pearls and gemstones and combining them with glass and wood...just so lovely, you can almost smell those balmy beach summer evenings just looking at them!

See and shop all of these and more HERE!

Oh yeah, and my exciting news that I was (not so) discreetly blabbering on about yesterday? My beau Mark and I are getting married next year!!! there was no bended knee or anything, just some awesome decision making by the pair of us...we have been together for nearly 11 years (proper teen sweethearts we were) so it's really about blinkin' time! Yay!

(See? I said it was exciting for me and probably not so for you but I have been struggling to keep it quiet until I had told everyone I hold dear - at least I think I have told everyone!!). I promise not to become a wedding bore in the meantime but I may show you pretty stationary and flowers and stuff occasionally in the run up...Just let me know if I go OTT! :)

Can't stop listening to:

I was lucky enough to catch Nancy Elizabeth playing at Miss Peapods in Penryn a few months back at a show organised by my friends, Ho-Hum productions and that night the poor girl wasn't feeling too great, but enchanted the room with her soft vocals and pretty guitars...Only recently have I had her album Battle and Victory to listen to properly and it has totally blown me away all over again with its haunting sounds of harps, harmoniums and guitars alongside horns percussion and cello and lyrics of love lost and heartbreak.

I really do recommend a listen! Hear some of the tracks HERE at her Myspace...

Some finds for you...

This weekend just gone we took a trip up to Devon to see some of Marks family which was lovely, except for the rain on Saturday...oh the rain! So torrential! Especially since we went to a charity event in a marquee, luckily there was plenty of Devonshire beers on hand to warm the cockles :)

On Sunday since we were in Devon we took a trip down to the Bovey Tracey Contemporary Craft Fair which was a very enjoyable event indeed with a very high standard of work.

One of my highlights of the show was meeting Bonbi Forest consigner Victoria Lindo who's work I find so adorable. She had a selection of her baby bird brooches and baby cats there for sale (as do we in the Emporium!) as well as some of her amazing appliqued artworks...

Another favorite was Rebecca Eardley who makes gorgeous jewellery out of cut coins. The imagery is beautiful with a really vintage and unusual feel:

I also fell in love with Penny Leaver Green's imagery of delicately stitched birds which she uses to explore themes and ideas in childrens stories and fairytales...

It was also hard not to ignore the AMAZINGNESS of Robert Race's toys:

And this lovely Fox and Hens ceramic set from Katrin Moye based on the children's book 'Rosie's Walk':

Oh so much loveliness :)

Easing back in...

My, it's been a while since I blogged again (again!) but things have been a little crazy since the Grazia blurb came out and I have been holed away making hundreds of bracelets...If you wanted one then you better hurry as they are nigh on all sold out and only available in silver now over at The Shop Floor Project --> HERE! They certainly were a hit!

Anyways, I just thought I'd start back into being a bit more regular on this here blog with a few pics of a wonderful walk Mark and I took last night to soak up the rest of the sun before it turns cold again as it forecast for this weekend. I hope the rest of you have been able to get out and about and enjoy the sun a little. Goodness knows this country could do with a good summer this year...

I love all of the weird little plants that live on top of the cliffs...so pretty and hardy at the same time :)
