Painting Parade...

So I've been off the blogging again for the last week or so. What ever have I been up to? Making paintings is what! I have been away from painting for quite some time now and it has been great to hole up playing with watercolours and gouache and all things lovely and painty :)

Apologies for the not amazing photos (I forgot to take my camera to the studio today and only had my ancient phone to hand) but here is a peek. I am thinking of making some prints of them, what do you think?

Oooh! I love your work! It's adorable and so highly detailled. I've seen so much amazing gouache work lately it's making me want to give it a try. Do you have to prime the wood first or do you just start painting?

Hi Octopus Parlour, thanks for your lovely comments :)
The wood is discarded pieces from a furniture store and already has a laquer on it. I give it a sand to take back the surface a little and then it's good to go. I finish with a satin varnish...Hope that helps and have fun with your Gouache!
