I love butterflies. I love even more to see them free amongst the flowers. Though they are quite common, it's always a pretty surprise to see them. I wonder why some people like to capture them and keep them for themselves?
New drawings: (sorry again for the not amazing pictures...!)
Here is another new painting too! I made this one for Mark's mum who's birthday it was yesterday. It features her Hungarian Vizla pooch, Kizzie, greeting a boating guest to their beautiful garden under a clear night sky...

Rock Scissor Paper Mugs!
Oh how I covet these adorable mugs from Rock Scissor Paper! I don't even drink tea or coffee but they would look so sweet in our kitchen and I could gaze at them while my beau sips his tea...
I found them via the Print and Pattern blog, which is a pattern love overload if ever there was one and so inspiring. Every time I peek on that blog I feel the inclination to rush to the studio and make stuff, be warned! Gorge on gorgeous prints and patterns HERE.

Painting Parade...
So I've been off the blogging again for the last week or so. What ever have I been up to? Making paintings is what! I have been away from painting for quite some time now and it has been great to hole up playing with watercolours and gouache and all things lovely and painty :)
Apologies for the not amazing photos (I forgot to take my camera to the studio today and only had my ancient phone to hand) but here is a peek. I am thinking of making some prints of them, what do you think?

Snaps of a weekend
This weekend just gone, my mum and I took a trip up to Gloucestershire to watch my cousin compete in the Riding for the Disabled National Championships...she made us all proud and won her class taking home some beautiful trophies to boot. Well done Kerry!
On the way home we stopped off at Frampton Court where my aunt lives as the housekeeper. It's a beautiful old Grade 1 listed 18th century house full of strange artifacts and relics. It's always so lovely to spend time there...we all sat out on the lawn eating almond loaf and drinking iced lemon water, admiring trophies and soaking up the sunshine...
Good times :)

Amaze...
I just saw these amazing shots of a bubble bursting in the paper this morning...they are taken by photographer Richard Heeks who takes the images in a corner of his garden when there is no breeze. It's amazing to see that there is no outward 'explosion' as such, they just rip apart and leave tiny drops of soapy water hanging in the air...

Jo Bradford's Short Stories
I have just come across the beautiful photography of fellow Cornish artist Jo Bradford and have fallen in love with the vibrant colours and painterly quality of her images. The images themselves seem to evoke fairytales, nostalgic stories and memories of times past...
